When I render something out in 3d max and then open it in photoshop, the colors are all washed out. I don't know why. I don't have this problem with aftereffect when editing, but to do a still, I am having problems. I think it might be something wrong with my photoshop. It has been giving me a lot of trouble lately while texturing things. I don't really know when this happened. Any one have experience with this or ideas?

That could be due your gamma settings not being correctly set. Having you changed any of your gamma settings?

Better yet, can you post an example to verify it?
